Well done nursery for fantastic Christmas singing today. Thank you to all the parents/carers who came to watch. It was a lovely event and we are very proud of the children. Merry Christmas!


Bannock bread baking at forest school

It was cold outside today and we had to wrap up warm. Mr O’ Brien lit a fire and baked bannock  bread on sticks for us to try.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic

  We have been reading lots of bear stories and decided to have our own teddy bears’ picnic. We made yummy sandwiches. Our bears had a lovely time!


Diwali

We have learnt about the Hindu festival Diwali. We made diva lamps using clay and used bright colours and sequins to decorate them.


Harvest

Today we had a visit from Rev Mark Elvin. He brought lots of fruit and vegetables to show us and talked about how and why we celebrate Harvest Festival. We learnt about food which grows and how it makes tea, chocolate and bread. He told us how we can help others by sharing food. We […]


Matilda the Tortoise visits nursery

Matilda the tortoise visited nursery for the day. We learn about what tortoises need to eat and about how they behave. She was very friendly and we got to give her lots of cuddles. Some of us drew pictures of Matilda.


Releasing our butterflies

Today we released our butterflies into the forest school garden. We have watched with anticipation and fascination as they changed from tiny caterpillars to fat caterpillars. We then watched them create their cocoons and emerge a few days later as beautiful butterflies.  


Yummy Smoothies

  After reading Handa’s Surprise we chopped different fruit to make a smoothie. We added pineapple, mango, bananas and orange juice.
