Pupil Support Services

The Pupil Support Service is made up of the following people:

Mrs Julia Harris – Pupil Support Worker for Early Years

Mrs Dawn Inger– Pupil Support Worker for Key Stage 1

Miss Anna Gooch – Deputy Head and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

Referrals may come in to the team from school staff, parents and also pupils themselves.

The Pupil Support Service’s role within the schools is to work with pupils and their families in identifying barriers to learning and support children in order for them to reach their full potential. This support is individual to the pupil and can take form in any area including the following;

  • Behaviour Management
  • Social Skills
  • Emotional Support
  • Bereavement
  • Anger Management
  • Low self esteem
  • Friendship Issues
  • Transition
  • Improving attendance

Working in partnership with parents is an important aspect too. We run monthly Parent Information Meetings during which time parents can chat to staff and other professionals from other services over a cup of tea!
