Forest school talking cafe

At forest school talking cafe the children listened to the story of the little red hen and about how she made bread. Instead of making bread, the children made little red hen pizza’s using materials they found in the woods.

Bug hunt in forest schools!

As well as going on a bear hunt, we went on a bug hunt in forest schools. We changed the words to the story to make it into a bug hunt,

We’re going on a bug hunt, we’re going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day, we’re not scared!

Next week we will be writing our own stories!

Making bread

In the story of the little red hen, we learn about how she turns corn into bread. We have been finding out how the grain is grown, cut, ground and turned into flour. We thought the best way to find out how to make bread was to make it!

We helped to weigh and measure the ingredients, mix them together and knead the dough. We then baked our bread rolls in the oven and we were amazed to see how much they rose in the oven. The bread tasted delicious. DSCF0441 DSCF0456 DSCF0445 DSCF0455 DSCF0461
