Nursery celebrate Chinese New Year

Pancakes

We made pancakes in anticipation of Shrove Tuesday next week. We sprinkled them with sugar and squeezed the lemons. We learnt how important it is to wash our hands before cooking. We watched Mrs Murray flip the pancakes before we could eat them up. They were very yummy!


Boxes!

We have been practicing lots of skills today. Problem solving and team work has been important when making dens. We have learnt how to build and balance different materials. Evaluating and improving our dens to make them bigger and better.        


Christmas singing

Well done nursery for fantastic Christmas singing today. Thank you to all the parents/carers who came to watch. It was a lovely event and we are very proud of the children. Merry Christmas!


Bannock bread baking at forest school

It was cold outside today and we had to wrap up warm. Mr O’ Brien lit a fire and baked bannock  bread on sticks for us to try.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic

  We have been reading lots of bear stories and decided to have our own teddy bears’ picnic. We made yummy sandwiches. Our bears had a lovely time!


Diwali

We have learnt about the Hindu festival Diwali. We made diva lamps using clay and used bright colours and sequins to decorate them.


Harvest

Today we had a visit from Rev Mark Elvin. He brought lots of fruit and vegetables to show us and talked about how and why we celebrate Harvest Festival. We learnt about food which grows and how it makes tea, chocolate and bread. He told us how we can help others by sharing food. We […]


Matilda the Tortoise visits nursery

Matilda the tortoise visited nursery for the day. We learn about what tortoises need to eat and about how they behave. She was very friendly and we got to give her lots of cuddles. Some of us drew pictures of Matilda.
